Law Enforcement

For survivors of a recent sexual assault, speaking with law enforcement may be one of the first times they are expected to speak in detail about what happened to them. For that reason, it is critical that law enforcement personnel be educated about the topic, and that they be trained to interact and conduct interviews in a way that minimizes the re-traumatization many survivors experience when they tell their stories.

The most effective trainings to law enforcement trainees take four hours and include a presentation and role-plays with trained RCC staff and volunteers. These trainings are provided at no charge.
