The Bilingual Counselor/Advocate works to provide counseling and advocacy services in English and Spanish, and helps facilitate community members’ access to the Rape Crisis Center’s sexual assault victim/survivor services. This Counselor also works to develop, strengthen and maintain relationships with the Latinx community through participation in community groups and providing outreach and education in Spanish.
The Crisis Services Coordinator/Advocate (CSC) works within the Direct Services team to help provide Helpline support and advocacy services during business hours, and to ensure coverage on nights and weekends through our volunteer program and On-Call Advocates. This position is responsible for recruitment, training, and retention of Helpline volunteers and support of On-Call Advocates. The CSC also helps support professional trainings in the community on the topic of sexual violence and advocacy services.
The Outreach Specialist – Bilingual helps support the agency’s community outreach efforts within the Latinx community. The perfect candidate for this part-time position must be bilingual in Spanish and English, and must have a commitment to increasing collaborations and support within the community. They will work in partnership with the Bilingual Counselor and the Director of Client Programming to help ensure a comprehensive outreach and education strategy for Dane County’s Latinx community.
The urban Youth Counselor/Advocate works as a part of the Direct Services team, and is responsible for providing short-term individual and group counseling to youth ages 12-18 in Madison area schools, as well as medical, legal and school-based advocacy services to all ages across Dane County. Additionally, the Youth Counselor helps to support our helpline by providing accurate, timely and trauma-informed support and information to victims of sexual violence, their supports, or community members, during business hours.
